Speeches! It's that time of the year again! Kea 2 students
should have a speech subject ready by Week 8 Term 3 (for
Term 4) This week (Week 7) we're researching and choosing
three potential subjects.
Every student in Kea 2 has written a persuasive argu-
ment, a persuasive letter and a piece of free verse this
term. There are examples of this work on the wiki. The
work will also be published for the Term 4 portfolio.
We have been studying the work of Don Binney, Colin
Mc Cahon and Robyn Kahukiwa this term (our New
Zealand Cultural and Artistic Expression theme). There
are great examples of our art and poetry (based on these
artists and their work) on the wiki.

proceeds.
Well done Kea 2 students for completing persuasive advertise-
ments using the Comic Life application. See Comic Life page.
We are currently studying New Zealand artists and Maori art.

of what it is to be a Kiwi.
The Eel Day was a great success. Thankyou to Mrs Whithead for
organising this science day. Kea 2 students did some great
projects in the two weeks building up to Eel Day. The day itself
was fun and informative. Thanks for reading ....Richard Yates

Again, well done. * Mathletics: students should be doing 1500 points a week now... we do notice that the most active Mathleticians do seem to make the most progress overall in maths :) * Speeches. The new half-termly homework (Term 3 second half) is to research possible speech topics and to begin writing 3 speeches (3 speech introductions). As we have been doing persuasive writing for several weeks now, speech writing should not be as much of an issue! * In Social Studies this term, we are studying notable artists such as Colin Mc Cahon and Don Binney.
